Ashmolean Museum’s forthcoming exhibition The Lost World of Old Europe: Danube Valley 5,000 – 3,500 BC (20 May – 15 August)

Supported by the Leon Levy Foundation, this stunning exhibition of gold, pottery and archaeological finds, from over 20 museums in Bulgaria, Moldova and Romania, goes on display for the first time in Britain, at the Ashmolean Museum of Art & Archaeology, University of Oxford. One of the exhibition’s highlights includes the earliest major assemblage of gold artefacts to be found anywhere in the world from the Varna cemetery, Bulgaria.
