After operating in its early years as a UK-based organisation, the British Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (BBCC) was re-launched in Sofia in 2011 as an independent, non-political and non-profit association with the primary goal to encourage bilateral trade and investment which benefit the economies of both countries, but also to protect the common commercial interests of its Members and voice their opinions, as well as to promote and maintain an ethical standard for the conduct of business.
The Chamber works in close co-operation with the other bi-lateral chambers of commerce in the country. The BBCC is a member of the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe (COBCOE) which represents 40 British bilateral chambers of commerce and over 10,000 businesses across Europe.
The BBCC has established itself as one of the leading bilateral chambers in the country and is particularly well known for the quality events it organises for the benefit of its Members. The wide range of events feature high-profile speakers and lively debates on topical business and economic issues, which create ideal opportunities for networking and establishing business contacts. The Chamber also runs specialised conferences and seminars, and interacts with the appropriate Bulgarian and British governmental bodies and regulators with the aim of improving the business climate in Bulgaria.
The BBCC membership is open to companies and individuals who are interested in helping the Chamber achieve its goals and who would like to further their business activities through becoming part of the British-Bulgarian business community.
